		<description>It was a gust of 52 that took the New Wave down.  Up the first beat it was 25, then 30, then 35, then... more.  They were tacking their way around (going to the leeward mark would have required an insta-gybe at this point).  We were a few boatlengths behind them and luckily were only reaching and not in the middle of a manouvre at the time.  52kt read from a station maybe 500 yards downwind from the spot where the boat went down</description>
